Lumps in the groin

• Introduce, expose (abdo, groin, legs) pt standing
• Inspect for lumps, scars
• Palpate
• Genitalia. See if can get above swelling
• Both groins
• Cough impulse on lump
• Reduce it. Apply pressure over deep ring (1cm lat to midinguinal point), ask pt to cough & observe where lump comes out.
• Auscultate
